A beautiful historic city with lots of cultural events and interesting museums and shops. A lot of choice for eating cheap or expensive. The best location we found for Mexican traditional food was in a grand hall called Mercado de la Merced which is a 20 minute walk from the centre.
Av. José María Morelos 1522A, RUTA INDEPENDENCIA, Centro, 68000 Centro, Oax.
My biggest reservation about visiting this beautiful place is the surrounding streets to the Zocalo were gridlocked with traffic daily. All spewing out pollution which was irritating and harmful.

Loved Oaxaca city.
Loved Oaxaca city. The city center felt very safe, evenings at the zocalo were quite pleasant with many different types of music going on. We stayed a few blocks down from zocalo, in walking distance to the museum, a must, churches restaurants and lots to see. Food was delicious also. People were friendly. Loved our trip

Gorgeous city!
Gorgeous city! I loved the pink and green “Canterra” stones that make the old churches and historic buildings. I have been traveling in Mexico for 30 years and have never experienced the zero pressure to buy things like I did in Oaxaca! I never begrudge those that are selling things and am a great supporter of the arts, but I truly feel that they have it right with the zero pressure, it actually makes shopping a much more pleasurable experience…and oh my goodness…the food! It is a Mecca of authentic food…we’ll be back!

Nice relaxing and touristy town in Mexico. great food everywhere both for budget travellers and people who want to splurge. It's ll you expect from Mexico. If you want to experience the typical mexican holiday this is the place to go. Nice weather and budget friendly
Excellent location near the zocalo, restaurants and places to eat. Very walkable! It is the cutest budget, boutique hotel with a GORGEOUS, lush courtyard. Rooms are simple, clean, and the property is safe with friendly and accommodating staff. There’s a delicious restaurant right next door and a coffee shop on the next block.
There are many beautiful places to stay in Oaxaca, but this place really gives you the most value while keeping prices accessible.
I will definitely return!
The hotel is in a great location, few steps from the centre and the best restaurants in town. We loved the outside area and our room was comfortable, even if small, and the water pressure was very good. We had a fridge in the room and fresh water everyday. Very good wife as well. The staff was very professional, maybe a bit too much, and they all speak English. They were very helpful with storing our suitcases for few days for a small fee and they helped us calling taxis.
The continental breakfast was excellent and came included with my reservation. The location was perfect since it was walking distance from zocalo and downtown area. The gardens in the hotel were beautiful and relaxing with plenty of seating areas. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and made our visit to Oaxaca city more pleasant because we knew we could rely on their advice.
The hotel is in the heart of Oaxaca City - located close to the zocalo, many markets, cathedrals, shops and museums. The staff was very friendly, helpful and observant. They even celebrated my birthday with a birthday cake, song and decorated our roomm. The holiday (Dia de los Muertos) decorations were very charming. The breakfast is nice and located in the quiet interior courtyard.
Quiet, lovely, private feeling little boutique hotel that was close to everything. Double room for 2 friends was spacious and comfortable, with modern bathrooms and yes, low water pressure but plenty of hot water. Unpretentiously decorated, unlike the other hotels in Oaxaca City, and extremely pleasant staff at an unbeatable value. Would highly recommend!
A peaceful boutique hotel with generously sized suites, amazing staff and truly exceptional breakfasts. The room had everything we needed to feel at home. The staff were very kind and really took care of all of the guests. We could not get over how delicious the breakfasts were - every day we were served something new.
This place is the best hotel in Oaxaca. Location, Breakfast, Cleanliness and The team that works every day to make you feels at home. From the beginning to the end of my stay I felt so comfortable and they constantly check how you are feeling and if everything is okay. I really recommend this place.
The inner courtyard provided a quiet refuge whenever I needed it. I spent most evenings with a mezcal margarita and chips chatting with other guests and the convivial bartender. Best hotel experience I’ve ever had and I stayed a week
Santa Cecilia was comfortable and quiet in a great location. Lovely walk into town, lovely to get back to! Excellent breakfast on the roof terrace. We did a trip from the hotel with Alberto that was one of our best days out!
This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a renovated building. It has stunning murals on the walls. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfasts were varied and very tasty with local ingredients.
Love this hotel. Its like a mini retreat from the hustle of Oaxaca City. I stayed in Centro near Zocolo twice and the noise and fumes get intense. The view of the city from these rooms is incredible.
love the location and having multiple rooms for our kids. roof top lounge area and pool were great. our room was quiet even though hotel on is Main Street. 2 min walk to market for best street food.
This hôtel is beautiful and located on a gorgeous neighborhood close to zócalo. The rooftop is as well very nice with pool and great view.
The employees were great all the time
The design put into this property was beautiful! The bar and second level restaurant was gorgeous, and the free gourmet breakfast was bar none the best I had at any hotel.
Great attentive staff. Hotel was in a good location. The daily breakfasts provided was a nice touch. I would recommend this boutique hotel! Enjoyed my stay.
